About Us

Based in Louisville, Kentucky, EpiGate Software offers custom software solutions utilizing Microsoft Access, VBA, VB.NET, Alpha and VB6 as the applications building foundation. Ambutrax™ is EpiGate Software's number one software solution for Emergency Medical Services and Fire agencies. Ambutrax is designed for Public Safety Agencies by Public Safety Professionals. The Ambutrax development team has more than 50 years of experience in Public Safety, in both Rural and some of the largest EMS agencies in the nation. Understanding business needs assures we think like a user, not a developer.

Star of LifeCustomer Success:

Our customer's success is vital to our business. We encourage feedback and suggestions from our customers. We deliver new releases based on the feedback we receive. No suggestion is too small.

Star of LifeIn the Beginning:

In 1998 Ambutrax, was released as a 2 module application to manage personnel and timekeeping. Since then, Ambutrax has grown into a multi-module, mult-agency management solution utilized by small and large EMS and Fire agencies. Our Ambutrax staff has more than 50 years of experience in EMS / Fire and has functioned in nearly every position involving EMS, including Paramedics, Superviors, Quality Assurance and EMS Managers of agencies with over 300 employees. Epigate Software is continually looking for ways to improve and enhance Ambutrax, always keeps the end user in mind, and delivers a product that offers immediate cost savings with minimal investment. Administrators and managers get a powerful reporting tool that allows them to know where they are spending their dollars.

Star of LifeThe Growing Years:

1998

Ambutrax, began with two modules, personnel and timesheets. Built for personnel information and to track hours worked, FMLA, sick, vacation and military time. Ambutrax was a great improvement of the then current, means of tracking timesheets, which was numerous spreadsheets, and involved tabbing through page after page to log the time for all employees. To get the data out in a report meant more calculations to break out the hours by category.

April 1999

A disciplinary action module was created. At that time all of our employee discipline was put on paper and forwarded to the appropriate personnel to handle. If an employee was late for shift, a supervisor would need to find out if this was a first occurence, third occurence or which to know what to write the discipline for. That meant a supervisor, if they were out at a satelite station, would need to go to headquarters, open a file cabinet, find the file for that employee and count the occurences. Ambutrax simplified this by allowing supervisors to select an employee and find out in seconds how many occurences there were. Since Ambutrax can be server based, supervisors can now accomplish this from any satelite station that is connected to the server.

July 2003

RunTrax was integrated into Ambutrax to track all run data. Very useful for agencies whose budget does not allow an in-the-field Electronic Patient Care Reporting tool. RunTrax allows the same data to be collected and reports to be generated.  Calls for service, response time, ER turnaround time, call types and treatments are only a few of the categories collected.

March 2004

Epigate Software adds a supply and inventory control module to Ambutrax. Know when a supply item is at or below the re-order level. Create Purchase Orders and track what items are on backorder from vendors. Track current prices and contracts and know when a contract is ready to expire. Equipment tracking, with scheduled maintenance alerts, assignments and current staus. Know where all your equipment is with a simple click of a mouse.

June 2004

Epigate Software adds fleet management to Ambutrax, allowing agencies to track vehicles, mileage, damage, service, parts, fuel consumption and current status.

January 2005

Epigate Software adds a document control module to Ambutrax.

December 2005

Epigate Software adds a shift reporting module to Ambutrax. Supervisor staff can create reports and send to the appropriate personnel which can be read on an iPhone or blackberry.

May 2007

Ambutrax was integrated with Intergraph CAD system, one of the largest CAD systems in the world, to provide Agencies utilizing Intergraph a one-stop-shop for all their data reporting needs.

January 2008

Ambutrax integrates with Zoll Rescuenet ePCR system, adding one more EMS technology to the growing list of integrations.

September 2010

Ambutrax takes our dedication for integration one step further with a Trio of integrated systems consisting of Intergraph CAD, Zoll ePCR and Ambutrax. We were successful in linking the CAD and ePCR data for comparisons and validity. We know of no other system currently available that can offer a true single source solution for all their reporting requirements.

December 2010

Ambutrax adds a narcotics tracking module. Know when controlled substance medications are about to expire, who they are issued to, when used, how much and used for. Full accountability from the time of receipt to use, waste, returned or destroyed.

May 2011

Random drug testing module integrated with the Ambutrax personnel module. Randomly choose 1 or more personnel with the click of a button.

Star of LifeWhere we're going:

Providing support to our clients and customer satisfaction is our number one goal. Number 2 goal is our drive to always improve Ambutrax and create new modules as Public Safety needs change.

A web based version is something we are currently looking at.
